ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Human remains were found near a burn pile fire in unincorporated St. Charles County Monday.
The remains were found in a field off of North Highway 94 around 4:30 p.m.
Authorities said they are working with the medical examiner’s officer to make a positive identification of the remains and determine a cause of death. They also said they are investigating this as a “suspicious death.”
Officials with the St. Charles Police Department said the cause of the fire has not been determined.

A 41-year-old man was shot in St. Charles on Thursday night, after the victim of a car theft tracked him down, according to police.
