ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) - A local rapper was gunned down in downtown St. Louis over the weekend.

Police said the man was targeted when shots were fired at him and two others outside the Hooters late Friday night.

Lamarcus Turner, also known as Blenda Boy Boy, was getting ready to head over to a club on Washington Avenue where he was set to perform when he was killed.

Turner was a rising star in the St. Louis rap world known for his street anthems. He was also known to use Facebook Live to connect with his fans, much like he did before his show on Friday night.

Minutes before, police were called to the triple shooting at the downtown Hooters, Turner was live on Facebook inside the restaurant. Just before midnight Friday, officers said the bullets started flying from a car as Turner and others walked out of the Hooters on 7th at Chestnut.

Two other people were also shot, one in the wrist, the other on the foot, but Turner was hit and killed. Police believe this was not a random shooting and that Turner was targeted. They continue to investigate.
