Walgreens employees held during attempted robbery in Belleville

BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Belleville Police Department are searching for two men that were involved in an attempted robbery at Walgreens on Monday morning.

Police said the suspects entered the store and proceeded to ask two employees for helping in locating some merchandise. When the employees showed them where the items were located, the suspects grabbed them from behind.

The employees wrestled with the two men while the suspects attempted to pull them towards the back of the store.

One of the men told the employees he had a gun and the other suspect questioned the employees about the store safe.

Authorities said the employees were able to break free from the suspects, while a third employee called 911.

The suspects immediately left the store and no property was taken.

No one was injured during the attempted robbery.
