Protesters gathered at Lambert International Airport on Sunday afternoon to show support for immigration after President Trump signed an executive order Friday that temporarily banned immigration from seven countries.

News 4 Reporter Alexis Zotos spoke with several demonstrators of all ages and all races that held up signs outside the St. Louis airport. Organizers worked with the airport and airport police and entered in small groups of five to seven at a time.

People were heard shouting, "No hate, no fear, refugees are welcome here" and "No bans, no walls, America is home to all".

Mayoral candidate and Alderman Antonio French was among the group and said if elected he will continue to fight for the rights of refugees in St. Louis.

According to airport police, an estimated 800 people participated in the protest.  The permit for the protest expired at 4:00 p.m., however a crowd remained until approximately 4:30 p.m. before dispersing.

In a tweet, Lambert thanked protesters for a "peaceful demonstration." No major incidents were reported during the protest.
