PINE LAWN, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Officers from the North County Police Cooperative volunteered to renovate the home of a veteran who lives in Pine Lawn Tuesday.

Officers teamed up with the group Beyond Housing and Home Depot to add new floors, cabinets and appliances to the home of 65-year-old Fred Reeves. The group also installed a new plumbing system.

“We can’t get him to put down a tool. He wants to help, he’s been working harder than any of us,” said North County Cooperative Chief Tim Swope.

Reeves said he is very thankful for the help.

“I need to give back in some way, if they need my assistance, I’m sure gonna help them, and that’s a fact,” said Reeves.

The renovations are expected to be complete by Thursday. Home Depot contributed $5,000 to the project.
