ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Two girls who have been friends since pre-school are showing what the bonds of true friendship are like.

“Keira was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma when she was 7 years old, it was stage 4. It started in her head,” said Robin Stout, Keira’s mom.

Keira is a third grader at Midrivers Elementary School in St. Peters and her best friend Olivia Jones goes to Duello Elementary in Lake St. Louis.

After the cancer took part of Keira’s vision and all of her hair Olivia wanted to do something to show her support.

“She just came to us one day and said, “I wanna shave my head for Keira,’” Heather, Olivia’s mom, said.

“And Keira said, ‘Mom, she doesn’t have to do that, she doesn’t have to shave her head for me,’” said Robin.

Olivia said she made the decision to shave her head because she didn’t want her fried to feel like she was alone.

I liked it, that she did it for me, and now we are twins,” Keira said. “It made me feel better, and not alone.”
