ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) --MetroLink trains were unable to operate between the Fairview Heights and Shiloh-Scott MetroLink stations in Illinois due to the ongoing ice storm and passengers were being transported by shuttle Friday.

Shuttles served the Fairview Heights, Memorial Hospital, Swansea, Belleville, College and Shiloh-Scott stations Friday afternoon and evening, and passengers traveling through those areas experienced delays of 30 to 45 minutes.

By 9 p.m., trains were again operating normally.

Bus service is seeing delays of 20-30 minutes but Metro Call-A-Ride is operating normally.

MetroLink station platforms, transit centers, bus stops and parking lots could be slick from the freezing rain and ice, so riders are asked to be extra careful.
