ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- A veteran and his family walked into their free new home for the first time Wednesday morning.

Wells Fargo and the Military Warriors Support Foundation donated the house in Swansea, Illinois to Staff Sergeant Jason Beisner.

Beisner completed three tours in Iraq and was injured multiple times. He says as veteran, it can be hard to find assistance.

“A lot of vets have a hard time getting anything when they come back, especially people that are discharged,” Beisner said. “I'll just say in my instance, you're discharged through the military where you might've been planning on retiring, and you're cut short."

Beisner and his wife say the house came at the perfect time because they just welcomed their first child to the family.

Wells Fargo has donated more than 300 homes to veterans across the country.
