ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – The building that was at the center of a human trafficking investigation in south St. Louis is for sale.

The building was an old church that was transformed into a place that housed a school for kids, karate classes, the Dojo Pizza shop and an apartment where the owner, Loren Copp, lived.

The 24,000 square foot building located at 4601 Morganford is listed at $199,000. The listing states the building would be great for a "religious or not-for-profit organization, school, theater or community center."

People who live in the neighborhood say the building has a lot of potential, and they hope it ends up in the right hands.

"I think it should just make a positive impact because there's been a lot of crime around here so I think somebody should do something about it," said Senad Toric, a resident of Bevo Mill.

The building was raided by local police and federal agents in October 2015 after Copp was accused of human trafficking. Copp has denied the allegations and previously told News 4 “there are kids that would come to my place just to be safe.”

Right now, Copp is locked up, awaiting trial on federal child porn charges.
