ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A woman said the driver of another car fired shots at her when she honked at him near downtown St. Louis.

"It is insane. I think if I wouldn't have ducked the way I did, one may have hit me," she says.

The woman didn't want her identity revealed, but was willing to share her story so something like this, doesn't happen to someone else.

It happened Wednesday night around 6:30. She says she was near intersection of south 14th Street and Lasalle.

"I get the green light and I am going to go ahead, and this guy who has a red light is going and turned right in front of me pretty close, and that upset me so I honked," she says.

That's when she says things escalated quickly.

"All of a sudden, I felt all of this glass smash all over over," she says.

She says she slammed on her breaks.

"He put his car in reverse and went to the opposite side of the street in the wrong direction and was shooting seven to eight times at my car. He had pretty good aim," she says.

Bullets went through her car door. One even hit her head rest.

"I literally started bolting towards that Walgreens. I don't know if i should have gone on I-44, or go home. I had glass in my eyes, mouth and side of face," she says.

She ended up at the Walgreens on Lafayette and called 911.

"There was a guardian angel watching over me it is almost eerie you know," she says.

No witnesses have come forward. If you saw anything, contact police.
