Historically, around January the number of flu cases fluctuates, but the St. Louis area is seeing an increase in flu cases.

First, here’s a common of myth that is proven to be untrue: the cold winter weather does not cause the flu. Viruses are the main source for spread this respiratory illness.

If you didn’t get the flu shot this season, it’s not too late. The vaccine takes approximately two weeks to take effect and the flu cycle lasts about eight weeks.
