ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay joined Board of Alderman President Lewis Reed, St. Louis Sports Commission President Frank Viverito, Scottrade Center Chairman Tom Stillman and Scottrade Center CEO Chris Zimmerman in a press conference to discuss the renovation of Scottrade Center Tuesday.

Last April, Missouri lawmakers drafted a budget that barred state funds from being used to provide upgrades to the home of the Blues, but that decision did not stop officials from planning to improve the facility.

Blues officials said the upgrades will help improve fan experience and include revamp seating areas, a larger team store and a new scoreboard with higher resolution. The improvements will also include those recommended by the NCAA.

The improvements are estimated to cost $78 million, which includes $11 million that was already spent on projects at Scottrade Center by the Blues.
