DELLWOOD, Mo. (KMOV.com) -
Missouri Governor-elect Eric Greitens announced members of his public safety team Monday morning.
Sikeston Police Chief Drew Juden will become Missouri's public safety director and St. Louis Fire Dept. Captain Gregg Favre will serve as deputy director.
The governor-elect made the announcement at Zisser Tire and Auto in Dellwood, which was heavily damaged during rioting after the death of Michael Brown.
"The mission I have tasked them with is simple and straight forward," said Greitens. "The mission is to make Missouri a safe state to raise a raise a family and do so by supporting our law enforcement officers, our firefighters, and our first responders. To do so by helping all of us better understand and heal the divides in our community."
The governor's wife Sheena, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar, Ferguson Mayor James Knowles III and Dellwood Mayor Reggie Jones were among the officials on hand for the announcement.
Greitens will be sworn into office on January 9.
