ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) - Local kids got the chance to show off their hockey skills at a street hockey tournament on Sunday.

The rink was located on 4th Street between Market and Chestnut directly in front of the Old Courthouse. Twenty-four teams were split into two age groups with participants ranging in age from 7 to 12. Games were played three on three with a goalie using a street hockey ball.

"It's awesome to see young players take hold of the sport and how they grasp on, excited to play," says Brandon Knox, Youth Hockey Manager for the St. Louis Blues.

The tournament was put on through Blues For Kids. The charitable trust focus on four areas of giving, which includes youth hockey development.
