ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Four suspects are in custody after shots were fired at undercover detectives during a police pursuit Saturday night.

Officials said the pursuit started after gunshots were fired at an officer Saturday around 10 p.m. at Gasconade and Oregon. No officers were injured, but the police vehicle was hit by the gunfire.

The pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle crashed on Manchester near Kingshighway in The Grove, injuring a local restaurant owner.

"I walked outside and realized it had been my vehicle that was struck and then pushed up onto the side walk," said Tim Nugent.

Following the crash, the suspects left the vehicle, but were later taken into custody.

Police identified one of the suspects as 19-year-old Renard Jones. He was charged with resisting arrest and ordered to be held on a $10,000 or 10 percent cash-only bond. Warrants on three additional suspects, described as being two 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old, are pending further investigation, police said.

No other details have been released.
