(KMOV.com) - A soon-to-be MIT student makes a special gift that one 6-year-old will never forget.

Harper loves to play with dolls, like most children her age, but she never had one like her with cochlear implants.

American Girl makes hearing aids for dolls, but its not  quite the same.

“They said they just couldn’t make an accessory for every disability, and so we had to take a different route,” said Sanders.

Lindsey Sanders, Harper’s aunt, looked to kids in the STEM program at Choctaw High School for the answer.

A high school senior named Archer went to work with a 3D printer during his spare time after school.

“I knew my sister had one, so I came home and borrowed it from her and used a caliper to measure the ear,” said Archer.

Despite funny looks that Archer received while carrying the doll to school, he says this is his proudest work yet.
