Two suspects charged in Florissant jeweler smash-and-grab robbery

ST.LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) – While performing additional surveillance patrols due to recent burglaries in the St. Louis County area, Florissant detectives were able to spot a smash-and-grab robbery in process on Monday. 

Dionadre Mitchell Jr. and Daryl L. Joyner are charged with second-degree burglary after allegedly breaking into the Jewelz store located at 12747 New Halls Ferry.

Police say the suspects were seen backing a van into the front doors and breaking the windows of the Florissant jeweler. 

The suspects were arrested inside the business and the van used in the burglary was determined stolen. The two men are also being investigated for similar crimes in the Florissant area. 

In addition to the burglary charge, Joyner was charged with property damage and tampering with a motor vehicle. He is being held on a $50,000 cash only bond. Mitchell is being held on a 20,000 cash only bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
