Burglary suspect kicked in door, punched out window, police say

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A man is in custody after he allegedly broke into a Fairview Heights home and stole cash Friday.

Leroy Henderson, 61, is accused of kicking in the door to a home in the 9800 block of West Street Route 161 around 10:20 p.m. After kicking in the door, he demanded money and the victims gave him cash. He then punched out a window and walked away.

After the robbery, the suspect was found at a nearby MetroLink station.

Henderson has been charged with residential burglary, robbery and burglary. His bond was set at $150,000.
