ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

The Winter Weather Advisory has been extended through Saturday night, all the way until midnight, and in-turn, a few events and weekend plans have been canceled across the area.

Six Flags-St. Louis announced the entire weekend, Dec. 17 and Dec. 18, would be canceled entirely due to the weather conditions. This is the first year the park has been open past Halloween, due to the inaugural Holiday in the Park.

While this weekend is canceled, Six Flags-St. Louis said they will re-open, as scheduled, next week on Dec. 22 and Dec. 23.

The park said it will extend the Holiday in the Park to include Jan. 2.

The St. Louis Symphony has also canceled Saturday's 7:30 p.m. performance due to weather.

Those with tickets to tonight's performance may exchange them for another show, the symphony said; the 2:00 p.m. show included. Ticket holders may also exchange their tickets for a refund at the box office.

The symphony said a decision will be made concerning tomorrow's matinee performance by 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

Another performance announcing it's cancellation is the St. Louis Ballet.

Both the afternoon and evening performance of the Nutcracker will be canceled at the Touhill Performing Arts Center. The Ballet said tickets can be exchanged for the rescheduled performances on Wednesday, at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Or they can exchange their tickets for performances scheduled for Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday.

Garden Glow at the St. Louis Botanical Garden will not be held on Saturday night. Those with tickets can exchange them or use them for entry on another date.

Winter Wonderland in Tillis Park has been canceled for Saturday night.

While other events and performances close, the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House will close their day early. The organization announced they would close their doors at noon today, and cancel their Supper with Santa, which was planned for Saturday night.

Tenacious Eats has announced they are postponing their showing of the Christmas movie, It's a Wonderful Life, until Dec. 30. It was originally planned for Saturday night.

The St. Louis Zoo has also canceled their U.S. Bank Wild Lights for Saturday evening.

Churches and other groups have canceled activities for Sunday. For more those closings, click here.
