ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Two suspects and an innocent bystander were injured when a stolen vehicle crash following a pursuit from East into St. Louis Tuesday morning.

According to officials, the suspects stole a car from Washington Park.

After stealing the vehicle, the suspects went to East St. Louis High School and attempted to pick up a student.  Officials say the stolen vehicle was spotted at the school and the suspects took off with police chasing.

During the pursuit, the suspects fired shots towards police officers, according to officials.

Police then pursued the stolen vehicle across Martin Luther King Bridge. While the stolen vehicle was heading into St. Louis, it crashed into two vehicles, causing injuries to a juvenile, officials said.

The pursuit ended when the stolen vehicle crashed near Broadway and Carrie, trapping the suspects. The suspects were extricated from the vehicle and taken to the hospital in critical condition. Officials said one of the suspects was pronounced dead at the scene, but showed signs of life at the hospital.

News 4 spoke with a witness who saw the crash near North Broadway and Carrie.

"I'm watching," Christa Sova said. "And (the suspects) go right under the semi.  They t-boned it two seconds later.  It's bad he (hit) a truck but what if it wasn't a truck going through the light but it was a car with kids?"

The condition of the injured juvenile has not been released.

No officers were injured during the pursuit.

News 4 has a crew on the scene and will update this story when more details are made available.
