NORTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -

Firefighters had to deal with rekindling flames the day after a warehouse fire in north St. Louis.

The blaze broke out Thursday evening at an abandoned warehouse near the intersection of Riverview and Scranton.

St. Louis Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson said fighting this massive fire in below freezing conditions was difficult.

"Everything becomes slippery, everything ices over. Most of our equipment becomes a challenge with the icy temperatures," he said. "It adds more difficulty to a job that's difficult as it is."

City museum founder Bob Casilly planned to turn the land into a park called Cementland before he died.

Nobody was inside when the fire started.

Bomb and Arson investigators are still working to find out what started the fire.
