CREVE COEUR, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

St. Louis County has secured a federal grant, which it will use towards a project that aims to attract businesses to Creve Coeur.

The grant will be used to build an Agricultural Innovation District that will be designed to attract businesses, scientists, and researchers who work in the agricultural-tech field. The agricultural-tech field, or "ag-tech", includes a wide variety of plant technology and science.

The project will be 600-acres.

Sheila Sweeney, who is the CEO of St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, said the project will operate to be more than just a business complex.

"It's just going to be a place people want to come (to)," Sweeney said. "People in the ag-business, and district people want to live in."

Sweeney said the district will be a "fantastic suburban district."

The planned development will be called "39 North", which represents the 39th parallel that runs through St. Louis and the Creve Couer area.
