BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) - Police and school officials said there have been no additional reports of a man trying to lure children

Last week, Belleville School District 118 officials sent home a letter to parents, warning them about an unidentified man trying to lure kids into his vehicle as they walked home from Abraham Lincoln Elementary School at 820 Royal Heights Road.

Superintendent Matt Klosterman told News 4, "Some of the reports were that the individual in the vehicle made direct statements toward them about trying to get them to come to the car."

Sage Maisel, who is in 5th grade, said she and her little brother walk home every day together.

“Eww, it gives me the creeps,” said Sage.

Sage’s mother, Tera Miasel, said she worries about them daily, especially now.

“They mean the world to me. If anything happened to my kids, I don't know what I would do,” said Tera.

The district told parents three students said a man driving erratically stopped and told the siblings to come toward him on Tuesday, but the students ran home and told their parents instead.

District officials said those students saw that same man the next day driving erratically in front of their home and called police. On Thursday, students at West Junior High School reported two separate incidents of seeing the man driving erratically.

“The thought of someone creeping around. That’s a terrifying thought,” said Tera.

Belleville Police described the person as a white man, between 50 and 60 years old with gray hair and a mustache.  He had on sunglasses and a hat with a feather in it.

The man was also seen driving an old red and black Chevrolet with an open truck bed and a black work box with Illinois plates.

Monday  afternoon, police said they had identified a possible vehicle and person of interest.

As Belleville police work to find him Tera has advice for all the children in her neighborhood.

“When you see a stranger you run. Run,” said Tera.
