CAHOKIA (KMOV.com) -

An Illinois man has been charged almost three months after being involved in a vehicle accident that killed a passenger riding with him.

Larry Wallace of Cahokia, Ill., has been charged with First Degree Involuntary Manslaughter.

On Sept. 18, Wallace was a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) driving eastbound on Office Road around 10:00 p.m. Wallace then tried to left turn onto Bookholz Road, but the severity of the turn cause the UTV to overturn.

Wallace's passenger, Phillip N. Campbell, was partially ejected from the vehicle. Campbell, 47, was later pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said Campbell was not wearing a helmet during the time of the accident.

Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Wallace for driving the UTV while intoxicated.
