More than $40K raised for local musician after vicious attack in Soulard

Posted: Updated:

SOUTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) - A local musician who was attacked in Soulard in what he describes as a 'knockout game' style attack is back playing gigs.

Tom Hall says he was punched multiple times and kicked to the ground Thursday night in Soulard.

"I have 15 stitches, a broken nose around my eye, I have three loose teeth, I can't see right out of my right eye," he says.

Hall played this morning over at Howards in Soulard. He says playing his gigs helps him get his mind off of what happened to him.

"I think they are attacking the wrong people. They are not angry at me. They are angry, but I am not the guy they needed to whack," says.

Hall filed a police report. He says his biggest concern right now is the getting better and paying for the medical bills.  He doesn't have insurance.

There is currently a Go-Fund Me page has been set up to raise money for Hall's medical expenses. So far, more than $40,000 has been raised.
