MADISON COUNTY, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

Police are hoping new pictures will lead to some tips in a string of camper trailer thefts in Madison County.

"I have never handled a theft of one of these trailers in my career," said Madison County Sheriff's Captain Mike Dixon.

The trio of thefts, police said, are believed to have all occurred on Nov. 20 in Madison County. Now, police have surveillance images that show a suspect's vehicle that is involved in at least one of the thefts.

The suspect vehicle appears to be an extended cab truck, which is two-tone in color. The surveillance images show the truck pulling one of the camper trailers northbound on Humbert Road on the morning of Nov. 20.   It was one of two taken from a storage yard in Godfrey.  The other stolen trailer was taken from a residence in Collinsville.

Investigators believe the thieves may try to sell the trailers out of state.  Illinois does require trailers to be registered, but some other states do not check registrations when the trailers are sold.

Anyone with information regarding the thefts or the whereabouts of the vehicle in question should contact the Madison County Sheriff's Office at 618-692-4433 or 618-296-3000.
