SOUTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -

Sunday, Tropical Liqueurs, or Trops, the popular bar known for its frozen alcoholic drinks, will close its Soulard location for good at midnight. But that won't be the end of the popular establishment.

"We just love the environment it's really fun, we run into people we know," says customer Sarah Bowen.

Trops has been the subject of complaints about rowdy customers, noise and crime.

"It was more during the summer because they had that nice back space outside. They were complaining about noise, music being too loud, they turned off the music early shut down earlier," says customer Corinne Holtman.

The business was set to lose its liquor license until a judge let the bar stay open until it moved. That day has come. The bar manager says it's two fold. For one, they outgrew the current space. The new Grove location is said to be bigger and better.

"It is going to be almost twice the size, we will have food. Much more open space. Lively and exiting," says customer Matthew Stevens.

But that's not all.

"We were having some issues with the space meshing correctly with the area around us," he says.

There's no exact time frame of when the new location will open it's doors, but Stevens says it will be sometime in 2017.

"We are really excited about it, we love coming to Soulard but being SLU students, we are excited about it being more central for us and less of a drive," says Stevens.
