A new STEM academy is on the horizon in the Ferguson-Florissant District.
Last year, voters approved a $31 million no tax bond measure. It has now led to the purchase of a building on Dunn Road.
$6 million will be used to renovate it to include a theater, dance studio and a broadcasting media room.
The first class of students to use the new facility will be sixth graders. Eventually, seventh and eighth grade students and gift students will be added.
Parents will be able to give their input on the project during a town hall forum in January.
The academy is scheduled to open next August.
