To support nearly one out of three American families struggling to buy diapers, the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN) has planned to double donations.
This past spring, the White House launched the Community Diaper Program to increase the donations of free diapers.
The initiative helps prevent babies from wearing soiled diapers too long and becoming more exposed to potential health risks. It also helps parents that are required by some child-care facilities to bring diapers for their children.
In 2015, the NDBN distributed nearly 46 million free diapers to families in need. With the help of founding sponsor Huggies, the program serves more than 346,000 children each month.
