Washington County corrections officer accused of giving Xanax to inmate

POTOSI, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A Washington County Detention Facility corrections officer is accused of giving an inmate narcotics.

According to police, an internal investigation revealed Nathan T. Tebo gave 10 Alprazolam (Xanax) to an inmate who was serving a court ordered sentence at the facility.

After being arrested, Tebo was terminated from his job at the Washington County Detention Facility and incarcerated at the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Office.

Tebo has been charged with distribution of a controlled substance and possession of contraband.
