ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -  Police are investigating whether two recent carjackings downtown, including one that left a man shot in the head, could be connected.

“There was a knock on my window and I look up and here’s guy with a gun pointed right at me demanding I roll down my window,” said Kenneth Moss.

Moss said he was robbed at gunpoint Sunday night around 11 p.m. at St. Charles and 11th, just two blocks away from where Tuesday's attempted carjacking took place.

“Two blocks, two days later I’m thinking it’s the same people,” he said.

After the thieves demanded his truck, they took off with his money and cell phone as well. In Tuesday night's incident, the victim did not get out of his vehicle and the thieves shot him.

“Knowing someone did get injured makes me wish there was something more I could have done the night my truck was gone."

Police have not released any surveillance images from either incident.

“Honestly they haven’t said much and I really don’t have high expectations.”

Moss said he does want others to be aware of the seemingly random crime and what they can do to protect themselves, including giving the thieves what they want.

“It’s frustrating you don’t want to be a victim, you don’t want to act like a victim but comply.”
