ST. LOUIS ( – A struggling, single mother told News 4 that it was her minivan that was stolen and used in a smash-and-grab in north St. Louis Tuesday.

"It's like this is not happening, I'm hoping to wake up from a really bad nightmare and none of that happened," said Kristin Joshua.

Joshua said she looked out her front door in the 1400 block of Glanville Place Monday morning and her blue Chrysler Town and Country minivan was gone.

Around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to City Gear in the 1400 block of North Grand after a minivan crashed through the front of the store.

After crashing into the store, unidentified suspects took clothing and money.

Police notified Joshua around 4 a.m. that it was her minivan that was used in the crime.

Joshua is raising a 1-year old son and an 11-year old son with special needs and says without her vehicle it'll take an hour to get to work on the bus. Her damaged minivan will need lots of repairs that she said she can't afford.

"It's thanksgiving, Christmas is right around the corner. I live paycheck to paycheck as is, I was devastated."

Thanks to an anonymous donor Joshua was able to get her minivan out of a tow yard and towed to her house free of charge. But she's said she's still facing a repair bill she can't afford.
