ST. LOUIS, Mo. ( -

According to one Lambert official, today is one of the peak days of the holiday travel period, with nearly 22,000 departing passengers.

Over a ten day period, starting last Friday, the number of passengers is up more than eight percent compared to the same time last year.

Lambert officials are once again reminding people to arrive early.  They recommend arriving two hours ahead of your scheduled boarding time, especially if you're checking luggage or flying international.

If you're coming to Lambert to pick up anyone arriving, they're recommending that you use one of the two cell phone lots near the terminals.

“It’s a free waiting zone that reduces congestion,” Jeff Lea, Public Information Manager at Lambert, said. “You don’t have to circle around, it allows you to wait for them to call and pick them up two minutes later.”

There, you can watch the giant "arrival board" and see when that person's flight has arrived.
