UNION, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A Union, Missouri teenager died of his injuries after being involved in a single-vehicle crash.

Logan Whisenhunt, 17, was driving on Highway 47 south of Franklin Road when his vehicle drove off the roadway and struck an embankment around 10 p.m. Sunday. According to the crash report, Whisenhunt was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Whisenhunt was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead Monday.

Whisenhunt was a junior at Union high School. He was on the wrestling team and was remembered as "an awesome kid" by Coach Justin Cranmer. The school's wrestling dual against Rolla that was scheduled for Tuesday was postponed because of Whisenhunt's death.

Cramner said Whisenhunt's father died two years in a car accident.
