FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Three suspects had a sawed off shotgun and were wearing masks when they forced their way into a Franklin County home Tuesday night.

Just before 8:30 p.m., deputies were called to a home in the 1700 block of Highway AF outside of Sullivan after the victims reported the home invasion.

The victims told police they were inside the home when they heard a knock at the door. When they went to open the door, the suspects, two men and a woman, forced their way inside and demanded money.

The suspects took a handgun and cash from the residence before leaving in a white Buick or four-door Mercury, officials said.

The homeowner grabbed a gun and fired at the suspects from inside his home as the suspects left the area. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said it is unknown if the suspects were hit by gunfire, but the suspects did return fire.

No one from inside the home was injured during the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
