ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A suspect is in custody after a man was shot and his vehicle crashed into a tree during a possible attempted robbery in downtown St. Louis Nov. 22.

The 29-year-old victim was stopped at a red light near the intersection of 9th and Olive when several suspects approached the car and may have tried to rob him, police said. After motioning for the suspects to move away, the light turned green and as the victim began to drive away one of the suspects shot him in the head.

The victim’s car then crashed into a tree in front of Culinaria.

The victim was taken to a hospital with a non-lethal wound. He is in critical but stable condition.

Three suspect ran from the area.

On Dec. 1, police announced that 19-year-old Travion Brown, of the 6300 block of Lenox, was in custody and charged with one count of assault, one count of attempted robbery and two counts of armed criminal action in connection to the shooting. He is being held on a $150,000 cash-only bond.
