MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A proposal put forward by a business partner of Los Angeles Rams owner Stan Kroenke to develop 1800 acres of land in Maryland Heights will not move forward.

Maryland Heights officials told News 4 the plan to turn land near Creve Coeur Park into a residential, retail and sports district is dead.  The project was pitched by Alan Bornstein, Kroenke’s attorney and business partner. The duo also asked for tax breaks to help fund the project.

In total, six developers pitched ideas to build on the land, which is located in a flood plain. The city elected not to go forward with any of the plans, saying none of them met criteria set by officials.

The city said it will hire a team of consultants to come up with new guidelines for the development of the site.

Kroenke moved the Rams to Los Angeles in January.
