ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Over 2 million people have signed a change.org petition urging the Electoral College to cast their ballots for Hillary Clinton on December 19.

The petition calls “on the Electors to ignore their states’ votes and cast their ballots for Secretary Clinton.”

Even though Trump won the needed electoral votes to be named president-elect, Clinton is narrowly leading the popular vote.

“Mr. Trump is unfit to serve. His scapegoating of so many Americans, and his impulsivity, bullying, lying, admitted history of sexual assault, and utter lack of experience make him a danger to the Republic,” the petition claims.

On December 19, members of the Electoral College will vote for president and vice president. All but two states, Nebraska and Maine, award electoral votes on a winner-take-all-basis.

The petition also states: "24 states bind electors. If electors vote against their party, they usually pay a fine. And people get mad. But they can vote however they want and there is no legal means to stop them in most states."
