Georgia truck driver charged with homicide after fatal Metro East crash

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Il. (KMOV.com) -- A Georgia man has been charged with reckless homicide following a fatal traffic crash in the Metro East.

On Tuesday, November 8, 47-year-old Orlando Luke was driving a semi-truck on East Highway 50 when he crashed into four vehicles in the 8600 block.

The driver of one of the vehicles stuck,  67-year-old Cheryl Culver from Summerfield, Il., was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation by the O’Fallon Police Department, the Metro East Crash Assistance Team and the Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Re-construction Team.

Luke is a native of Augusta, Georgia.

He is being held at the St. Clair County Jail and his bond is set at $250,000.
