St. Louis County offers assistance to victims

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – The St. Louis County Police Department is reminding citizens it offers assistance to victims of personal or property crime.

The Victim Service Division offers a variety of assistance to victims and is free to anyone who has been a victim in the county.

“This Division helps people understand the criminal justice system and assists in restoring their lives back to normal,” said St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar. “Victims of crime can feel traumatized or frightened after the event, and the Division offers different services to help deal with their situation.”

Services offered include emergency assistance, emotional support, advocacy, volunteer training programs, victim compensation assistance and community education.
