ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

If you don't like Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump there are other choices, but those names won't necessarily be listed on the ballot.

In Missouri and Illinois you can cast a write-in vote.

Some write-in votes are counted while others are not. If you decide to vote for Mickey Mouse, Batman, or internet sensation Ken Bone those votes will not be tallied.

In Missouri individuals wishing to run as write-in candidates for state office must file a "declaration of intent" no later than 5:00 p.m. on the second Friday before the election.

Here is a list of the 20 candidates running as write-in candidates in the state of Missouri. The offices they seek range from state representative to President of the United States. If you cast a vote for one of these individuals it will be counted.

In Illinois the state's election board tells News 4 the office does not keep a list of write in candidates. Instead, candidates must file their intention to run as a write in candidate with each county 61 days before the election.
