Teen shot by convicted felon he was attempting to rob

NORTH ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A victim and teenage suspect were injured during an exchange of gunfire during an attempted armed robbery in north St. Louis Monday night.

Two 15-year-olds attempted to rob a 48-year-old man in the 4400 block of Richard around 7:15 p.m.

When one of the teenage suspects showed a firearm and demanded the victim’s property, the victim pulled out a gun. The victim and suspect fired shots at one another, during which the suspect was struck multiple times and the victim was struck once in the arm.

The suspects were found at a gas station in the 4700 block of Bircher following the incident and placed in the custody of juvenile authorities. The suspects’ firearm was found in the 4400 block of Marcus in bushes.

According to police, the victim is a convicted felon and at-large warrants will be applied for.

The suspect and victim are currently in stable condition at a hospital.
