ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- A man is in custody after he allegedly stabbed his father to death after an altercation in Arnold.

Arnold police said they responded to a deadly stabbing in the 1900 block of Case Drive on Friday night. Once on the scene, police said they found a 65-year-old man dead from a stabbing.

During the course of the investigation, police identified the victim's son, Kenneth Stotts, as the primary suspect. Police said Stotts admitted he and his father were involved in an argument over his drug use. Stotts stated his father threatened him with a gun, so he went upstairs, grabbed a kitchen knife and continued arguing with his father. Stotts then stabbed his father, police said.

Stotts was charged Saturday with murder 2nd degree and armed criminal action.
