The organizers who started Dine Out for Officer Mike Flamion back in July are now doing the same thing for fallen police officer, Blake Snyder.

On Tuesday, an event that runs extremely similar to the Flamion events was held.  Participating restaurants are donating a portion of their profits from the entire day to the fallen officer’s family.

Officer Snyder’s widow, Elizabeth Snyder, requested that all money be donated to the St. Louis County Police Welfare Association.

Some restaurants are donating ten percent of their profits.  Some – like Big Chief Roadhouse in Wildwood – are giving 100 percent of profits.

There has been a big turnout so far at Big Chief Roadhouse  and Elizabeth Snyder is thankful.

"I'm overjoyed and overwhelmed. It is absolutely amazing to see all these supporters for me and Blake. It's awesome. It's comforting to know that so many people care about us," said Elizabeth Snyder.

“If you know that you can go out to dinner and have money donated to a family like this that’s in need why not?” asks Candicci’s owner Bob Candice, who gave more than three thousand dollars in profits for the Officer Flamion event.

“It’s not about the money.  It really isn’t.  It’s about helping somebody.  It really is, especially in a situation like this,” Candice said.

The last time this event was held in honor of Mike Flamion the only restaurants that were allowed to participate where those in the West St. Louis County area.  Now, organizers are expanding that to the entire area – anyone who wants to participate.

“My first intent was 50 restaurants,” said event organizer Katie Zaitz-Fink. “I really wanted every St. Louis County police officer on this day to be able to go into a restaurant, have a meal and be able to say, ‘Wow my community supports me’.”
