BALLWIN, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A special van was donated to Ballwin police officer Mike Flamion on Thursday night.

Flamion was paralyzed when he was shot in the line of duty in July. For the past three months, the community has raised more than $50,000 for a van that is outfitted for Flamion. The van was presented at Jay Wolfe Toyota.

“It is a passenger conversion van, its lowered down with a ramp, so Officer Flamion will be able to sit in the front seat,” said Amanda Bickle with Jay Wolfe Toyota.

Flamion and his wife Sarah saw the van unveiled from a hospital in Colorado where he is undergoing treatment.

“It is incredible what you’re doing for my family. Thank you,” Flamion said.

If all things go well, Flamion could return home in a few weeks.
