Endangered Person Advisory issued for man with severe burn scars

NORTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) -

Police are asking for the public's help in locating a man who has severe burn scars on his face and body. 

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office issued an Endangered Person Advisory for Gavin Newman, who was last seen on Oct. 17 outside a K-Mart store on N. Lindbergh Boulevard and New Halls Ferry Road. 

Newman, 23, is said to be 6'1" and weighs 145 pounds. He is bald, with brown eyes and patch hair. Police said Newman also has burn scars on his face, chest, and both arms, as well as missing ears. The scars are said to be severe. 

How Newman received those burn scars is unknown at this time. 

He was last seen wearing  a black or grey, hooded sweatshirt with a white stripe, white jeans, and black Timberland boots. 

Police said Newman left all of his belongings behind, and made previous suicidal statements prior to his disappearance. 

Anyone with information on Newman's whereabouts or anyone who believes they may have seen Newman are asked to dial 9-1-1 immediately, their local law enforcement, or the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office at 314-615-5317.
