WENTZVILLE, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

The Wentzville School District is using new revenue to fund construction.

The money comes from Proposition E, which was passed by voters and provides $50 million in revenue.

Much of the construction has taken place at Liberty High School, which has a new gym and a new wing with 27 classrooms. A new auditorium is scheduled to open in April.

Other projects include construction of a new elementary school on Highway Z, six new classrooms at three schools and adding a third floor at Holt High School.

Lots of construction is taking place because of the district’s growth, which currently has 16,000 students, but it expected to have 22,000 by 2022.
