Man killed after being ejected in Jersey County crash

JERSEY COUNTY, ILL. (KMOV.com) - A man was killed when he was ejected from his car during a crash in Jersey County Monday.

The accident occurred near the intersection of Lockhaven Road and Illinois Route 100. A Ford truck on Lockhaven was crossing northbound Route 100 when it pulled into the path of a motorcycle. The motorcycle then hit the truck.

Keith Barry, 58, of Caseyville, who was driving the motorcycle, and Deborah Sereday, 55, also of Caseyville, were ejected.

Barry was pronounced dead on the scene. Sereday was airlifted to hospital in critical condition.

Michael Heitzig, 24, of Jerseyville, was cited for failing to yield at an intersection.  Northbound Illinois Route 100 was closed for three hours following the crash.
