ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com_ -- William Dean Manning, 44, of St Clair was arrested and charged with distribution of a controlled substance, according to the Multi-County Violent Crime and Drug Task Force headquartered in Franklin County.

Manning is suspected of selling heroin to a 28-year-old man, also of St. Clair, who died of an overdose. Investigators say the man was found at a residence and transported to Mercy Hospital Washington where he was pronounced dead.

According to the task force, Manning was accompanied by a 38-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman when he drove to St. Louis to buy the heroin that he subsequently sold to the man who died.

Bond is set at $50,000, cash only. Authority say Manning was also arrested July 15 and charged with possession of meth and heroin.
