2 dead, 2 injured during violent 24 hours in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Two people are dead, and two other victims are suffering from their gunshot wounds in area hospitals following several separate shootings overnight and this morning in St. Louis. 

The first of two homicide cases occurred around 10:26 p.m. in the 6000 block of Cates Avenue, in the West End neighborhood. 

When police arrived on the scene, they found a male victim, later identified as Lemmuel Williams, 27, inside the apartment with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. 

Almost three hours later, police were called to the 4400 block of Farlin Avenue, in the Penrose neighborhood. Police found 17-year-old Dontay Jordan shot in the head. He was pronounced dead on the scene. 

The homicide unit is handling all of the investigations. Currently, there is no information available on the suspects in all three cases.

The homicide unit is also handling another shooting.

A man was transported to the hospital after he was shot in the 3600 block of Louisiana Avenue, near Gravois Park. The shooting occurred just after 12:30 a.m.. 

The victim is currently in critical/unstable condition. 

The final case during this 24-hour span was in the 4400 block of Lexington, where a 29 year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his side. Police found the victim conscious and breathing. At this time, his condition is unknown. 

Police initially investigated a shooting on Dr. Samuel Shepard Drive as a homicide, but later determined the man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

All the cases are ongoing and suspect information is not known.
